    NOT GUILTY.  Client was charged with breaking into someone’s house, and then assaulting the owner of the house with a brick. Mr. Ghassemkhani convinced the jury at a JURY TRIAL that the owner of the house was lying and was trying to get money from the insurance company. Therefore, it was insurance fraud. Client was looking at 25-Life. Client was released from custody after the verdict.

    People v. J.S. HS 11352- TRANSPORTATION AND POSSESSION FOR PURPOSES OF SALE to wit: ROCK COCAINE

    NOT GUILTY.  Client was arrested and placed in the back of a police car. After client was taken out of the police car at the station, police officers find 4.0 grams of rock cocaine in the back of the car. Mr. Ghassemkhani took this case to trial and convinced a jury that the cop was lying. NOT GUILTY

    People v. T.B-PC 273.5(a)- CORPORAL INJURY TO A SPOUSE/ DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

    HUNG JURY- CLIENT DID NOT HAVE TO REGISTER AS A SEX OFFENDER.  Client charged with masturbating in public. Case went to Jury Trial and Mr. Ghassemkhani obtained a HUNG JURY.

    HUNG JURY- DISMISSED.  Police search client and find a meth pipe and some meth. At trial client testified that he found the drugs and pipe. Mr. Ghassemkhani successfully argued a theory of TRANSITORY POSSESSION. HUNG JURY CASE DISMISSED

    People v. A.W. -HS 11364- POSSESSION OF A CRACK PIPE

    HUNG JURY- CASE DISMISSED.  Client charged with possessing a crack-pipe. Officers testified they saw client throw the pipe. Mr. Ghassemkhani convinced 6 members of the jury that the cop was lying. HUNG JURY 6-6 CASE DISMISSED

    People v. B.A – PC 484 Theft

    HUNG JURY- DISMISSED.  Client charged with theft. Mr. Ghassemkhani took this case to trial and obtained a HUNG JURY. The case was then dismissed.

    People v. A.N- PC4573- Smuggling a controlled substance into prison and jail

    INFRACTION – NO FINE NO PROBATION- IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Client was charged with smuggling drugs into custody. After extensive negotiations Mr. Ghassemkhani convinced the District Attorney that it was the police officers fault. Case reduced to Infraction.

    People v. A.A PC 496- RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY

    NOT GUILTY.  Police serve a search warrant on client’s house and find several stolen items. Mr. Ghassemkhani convinced a jury that client did not know the items were stolen. Mr. Ghassemkhani obtained his 3rd NOT GUILTY in a row on felony cases that year.

    People v. A.M-SEXUAL ASSAULT

    DISMISSAL!! IMMEDIATE RELEASE FROM JAIL.  Mr. Meredith charged with attacking a teenage girl and sexualY assaulting her as she was walking to school. Mr. Meredith was a sex offender and was targeted because he was seen walking in the area and the victim identified him as the guy who attacked her. CASE DISMISSED!!!!!!!!

    People v. J.M. – RAPE OF INTOXICATED AND UNCONSIOUS/ SODOMY/ RAPE BY FOREIGN OBJECT

    People v. I.G. – FELONY CHILD ABUSE WITH GREAT BODILY INJURY

    Mr. I.G was looking at a max of 11 years state prison for felony child abuse and 4 month old child had broken femur. After extensive negotiations, Mr. G pointed out all the weaknesses in the case and client was given PROBATION CREDIT FOR TIME SERVED

    HUNG JURY- FELONY REDUCED TO MISDMEANOR.  Mr. Paul fell off of a ladder at work and severly injured his foot. All of his co-workers testified that Mr. Paul did not fall and he was lying because he fell when he was drunk. Mr. Paul was also charged with lying under oath at a deposition. Mr. Ghassemkhani HUNG this jury and the District Attorney dismissed the felonys and offered a misdmeanor.

    People v. R.A. – DUI and RECKLESS DRIVING

    Client charged with DUI and Reckless Driving on a motorcycle in Coronado. Mr. Ghassemkhani took this case to JURY TRIAL and got a NOT GUILTY.

    HUNG JURY- CASE REDUCE FROM FELONY TO MISDMEANOR.  Ms. ALvares was charged with stealing a car with her friend. Mr. Ghassemkhani argued at trial that Ms. Alvarez was given this vehicle and did not know it was stolen. HUNG JURY CASE REDUCED FROM FELONY TO MISDMEANOR

    HUNG JURY- DISMISSED.  Client charged with brutally attacking his friend in a parking lot of a restaurant in Hillcrest. Another witness testified that client started the fight. Mr. Ghassemkhani took this case to trial and convinced 9 jurors that the witnesses had a motive to lie. HUNG JURY- CASE DISMISSED
